Did the ingredients in PetArmor® for Dogs or PetArmor® for Cats change? No, the ingredients in PetArmor for Dogs or Cats did not change. This product still contains the #1 veterinarian-recommended active ingredient, fipronil, at the same amounts. Is it normal to still see fleas and ticks on my pet a few days after treating it with PetArmor? Yes. After treatment with fipronil, fleas and ticks get very active as they die and move to the top of the pet’s coat where they are more visible. This is actually a sign that the product is working. However, if you’re seeing fleas several days or weeks after applying PetArmor, you may have an infestation in your yard or elsewhere. Remember to treat all pets in your house with PetArmor every 30 days throughout the year to help protect your pets from fleas and ticks. Can I use PetArmor more than once in a month if my pet has a really bad flea or tick problem? No. PetArmor should not be used more than once every 30 days. If you have a bad infestation, talk to your veterinarian about your options. Does your product have an expiration date? What is the shelf life of the product? This product has a shelf life of three to five years. When properly stored and under ideal conditions it will be five years. The problems is that PetArmor and Frontline use the same active ingredient but the ingredients used to dispurse the active ingredient over a animal are not the same. Some problems with PetArmor is that like any change of anything it may take a little extra time to get it to work fully and typical people are so impatient they expect instant results and complain that it doesn’t work if 2 seconds after application all the fleas and ticks in the state didnt up and drop dead. Another more widely reported problem is that animals that have used another topical treatment have experience skin problems when the new treatment was applied to the same spot. Don;t know if you need to space the treatments apart or maybe the other treatment casues some long=term reaction with this one. But basically its Frontline. My cat had a bad reaction to Frontline. Not fatal or toxic, just red and irritated around the application area. The vet recommended that I try PetArmor for that exact reason. I have found it is effective and Max seems to respond well to it. And while all the fleas don’t jump up and die, I do notice a difference in scratching (he only ever gets fleas at the vet as he is indoors, LOL) in about 12-16 hours.

As seen on TV, PetArmor® is a flea and tick preventative that works just like Frontline® Top Spot®. It contains the same active ingredient, fipronil, as Frontline® Top Spot® and protects pets for 30 days against pesky fleas and ticks. Not only does PetArmor® kill fleas and ticks, but it also kills chewing lice and controls mites that may cause sarcoptic mange.
Just like Frontline® Top Spot®, PetArmor® is specifically formulated to kill fleas and ticks per your pet’s weight. So picking the right package is important in getting complete protection for your pet. The main ingredient fipronil, also found in Frontline® Top Spot®, is a broad-spectrum insecticide that disrupts the central nervous system of fleas and ticks. Once PetArmor® is applied, the fipronil spreads by a process called translocation. It is gradually spread by your pet’s natural oils, accumulating in the oil glands and absorbed into the hair and skin. It then kills adult fleas and ticks within 24 hours. PetArmor® works best when your pet’s skin is in optimal condition.
