Drawer Full Indication A blinking blue light will notify you when the waste drawer is full. Battery Backup (Optional) The optional Battery Backup Kit will provide 24-48 hours of reserve power, so that your Litter-Robot will remain operational in the event of a power outage. Can kittens use the Litter-Robot Open Air? It depends how much your kitten weighs. The Litter-Robot senses the weight of your cat to know when it enters and exits, which triggers the countdown timer and Clean cycle. Kittens and small cats that weigh less than 5 pounds may not be heavy enough for the sensor to detect. Until they weigh enough, we recommend using your Litter-Robot in “semi-automatic” mode to keep your cat safe and relieve you from litter box scooping. For semi-automatic mode, leave the Litter-Robot switched off or unplugged. When you see your cat has used it, wait about 7 minutes for the waste to clump, then turn it on/plug it in. The Litter-Robot will automatically perform a Clean cycle (takes about 2 ½ minutes), after which you should turn the unit off/unplug it again. Continue this supervised, semi-automatic mode until your kittens have gained sufficient weight to activate the Cat Sensor. Can I use the Litter-Robot for multiple cats? Yes! Multiple cats can use the same Litter-Robot—and each one will have a clean place to go each time, thanks to the automatic Clean cycle. More cats means more waste, so make sure to empty the waste drawer more frequently. Use this infographic to learn how many units are best for how many cats. * Freshen your home with a quiet, 3-way odor control litter box * Dual motion sensors activate cleaning cycle 10 minutes after kitty exits * Waste receptacle stores waste and controls odors for fuss-free disposal These quiet-running automatic litter boxes offer superior, 3-way odor control and are available in two sizes to accommodate single- or multiple-cat homes. Dual motion sensors activate the cleaning cycle 10 minutes after each use. The cleaning cycle removes clumped litter and waste into a catch-all receptacle. Three-way odor control starts with the removal of the waste from the pan. Next, a carbon filter inside the waste receptacle helps absorb waste odors. Lastly, antimicrobial protection controls bacterial odors on the box itself. These boxes feature a sleep timer that delays raking for 9 hours so you can enjoy uninterrupted sleep. Change indicator light tells you when the waste receptacle is full. Systems include a litter-catching ramp, mess-preventing high side walls, black metal-fleck plastic construction, power button for manual cycling, non-stick rake and pan surfaces, and AA battery backup (requires 8 AA batteries, not included) for power outages. Ideal for use with any premium clumping litter. Includes AC adaptor, 4 receptacles, 4 carbon filters, and 1 scoop/rake cleaner. Add the No-Tracking Litter Mat to further protect floors from litter scatter. Hi Kristina, I will start saying that almost 99% of cats take to the Litter Robot without problems. I think the issue you are having now with your 2 cats is the fact that the litter box is not always clean and this creates behavioral problems when cats need to share the same litter box. My cat Sophie uses the Litter Robot without problem, as the bottom is rounded most of the litter area is deep enough for a cat to dig. In the review I mentioned 13 cups but you can put more than that. I’ve been adding more litter lately just to check the limit point and it’s between 14 and 15 cups which is plenty of litter.
Filling the Litter Tray Fill your litter box so the litter level is between the MIN and MAX fill lines on either side of the litter box. Use the scoop and rake cleaner to evenly distribute litter in the litter tray. Tip: To measure litter at the center of the box, insert the scoop and rake cleaner, scoop down, into the center of the litter tray. The fill line on the scoop is even with the MAX fill line on the tray.
Overview: The ScoopFree is the best automatic cat litter box for the price tag and is one of the leading rake operated cat boxes on the market, using blue crystal disposable litter trays which are designed to sponge up moisture, effectively cutting down on odor as soon as your cat does his/hers business. The design is nothing foreign in comparison to an ordinary cat box which enables cats to easily warm up to their new ScoopFree toilet. The ScoopFree automatic litter box lives up to its name being one of the best hands free rake operated litter pan solutions. As mentioned before odor is not an issue with this unit as it utilizes blue crystal litter along with the trash receptacle being fully equipped with it own carbon filters to further extinguish any bad odors.
